In lieu of actually being there, I "visit" the 'Dam regularly on the web through sites like this, google maps, the amsterdamhotspots.com webcam overlooking Koningsplein http://amsterdamhotspots.com/cgibin/camview.cgi?cam02 (still my favorite) and the webs sites of my favorite coffeeshops. The Rokerij is by far my favorite - the music and the 360-degree pan of the Leisestraat shop really takes me there. The music - sometimes I'll open another tab and just let it play at the same time as the webcam. The combination of sounds just really makes the place come alive in a way that pictures alone can't do. I also like the Paradox web site. Of course, Willie Wortels "Hemp City" is another favorite.
