Looks like I get to cast the first vote.
I voted for Amnesia due to the fact that the last three times I have stayed in the Dam it was within walking didtance every time.
Always enjoyed their weed and hash, although have had better Ice hash than theirs.
It has always been sort of a home base to meet people and etc.
Prior to Nes becoming just a bar I would have voted for it just because of DC, the best budtendser I have ever met.

I have voted for Hill Street on the basis that I like to relax there. They do reasonable smokes, not always the best but its the atmosphere I like. Its also bright, airy and you can sit outside in the summer. Location is great for people watching.

Hey Twitch where did you stay near Amnesia? Hotel, apartment, etc? location? Thanks
I voted for Grey Area solely for the gear but like Kashmir Lounge the most when it comes to interior layout and decor.

I also voted for GA based on quality of smoke - last two trips it has been the first place I have headed upon arrival to grab a couple of grams and enjoy that first smoke

I've already voted (can't remember for who mind) but from my last trip I'd say Paradox, Basjoe and Homegrown Fantasy were in my top 3.

I'll have more info in a few weeks, I'll vote then. I would have said Pink Floyds, but I'll have to see after the Dampkring takeover.

The forum does have the option of multiple votes which would mean you could in theory vote for more than one... would this help or would it screw up the ratings ?

Maybe start another poll to run alongside this one with say 3 votes each?

good idea Boner... I have to read up on "how to" limit the voting but shouldn't be a problem...
will make it a "vote for your 3 most favorite coffeeshops" poll

Mmmmm, I couldn't vote more than once.
Not complaining, it's just that I have my top ten list of favorites.

well, we could go on and on... I do think selecting a top 3 from all those wonderfull places would make for a more interesting poll... I'm still trying to figure out how to get it off the ground, I've created a test poll but don't seem to be able to vote more than once. gimme 2 mins and I'll amend this poll to allow multiple vote (if I can) ... I voted for Grey Area some time ago, love the weed there but not keen on the cramped feel of the place. The budtenders are very friendly, but I think that has its drawbacks in that it makes the queue so much longer while people look at every single bud (well it sometimes feels like that). So my vote was based purely on the quality of the weed.
As far as a coffee shop for chilling in I am not sure where I would vote for, I like a beer with my smoke. I used to like buying some weed then off to t'Nes to sit and smoke it with a Gulpener in the other hand. I haven't been since the smoking ban though, does anyone know if it is ok to smoke non tobacco joints in there nowerdays?
I used to love the de kuill before they lost the alcohol, I think they would have fared much better to lose the weed. They have some good weed there (their NYCD is always a must buy for me), but I think there is a real gap in the market for a few more quality watering holes where weed smoking is allowed. When I have popped in since they dropped the alcohol the place just isn't the same. There used to always be a few people in whatever time of day you went, now whenever I have been through the day there has hardly been a soul in.

You can smoke non-tobacco joints in the bar and tobacco joints in the little entrance bit in the Nes Steve.
I felt the same regarding 420 but they were back to being busy everytime I visited in May.

Thanks Boner,
good to know t'Nes is still allowing smoking, I used to enjoy sitting in the little porch area on a nice day. Now I suppose it will be hard to get a seat in that part, on the plus side that means more room inside.
Very pleased to hear 420 is getting back to busines as usual, I feared for its future if it stayed as quiet.
Must get back out there soon and see for myself.
